Chuck's Nautical Photo Album

Here are some pictures and mini webs of friends and clients boats, adventures, and photos of general interest to boat fans.  This page is just getting underway, so check back now and then to see what's new!

AMICA - Peter Sutherland's beautiful newly refitted Colvin GAZELLE.  One of the most worthwhile boats and best amateur refits that I've seen in a long time!

HIGH SEA - Casey Marler's 38' Atkin Ingrid.  Casey's been working on his boat for about 7 years, starting from a bare hull.  He finally made good his threat to escape South Park.  Here's the move to Olympia.

LADYBUG - Here's Nick Adamo's great rendering of Jay Benford's 32' Trawler.  Fundamentally the same boat as writer Ernest K. Gann's STRUMPET, but about 2 feet longer.  Great Northwest Boat!

TENNESSEE - Dick Welch built this Bolger Tennessee in record time back in 1987-88.  He followed the plans exactly and wonder of wonders, building the boat as the designer drew it worked out just fine!

BILL SAMSON  has been taking a vacation from building bigger boats and has turned his craftsmanship to Kayaks.  On this page are a few random scans of his baidarka and a folding kayak in progress.

BILL SAMSON once again gets busy and builds a Peach Pie--a boat I drew just for him.  Check out the Step By Step photos as he progresses through this project!

ED SASSER friend and fellow columnist on Duckworks is building a Peanut Houseboat for living aboard in Alaska.  Click here to see some pictures of the boat in process.  I expect that he'll probably have his floating home complete by this summer (2001).  Also, you'll notice a link to another page which is a reprint of a recent article by Ed from  Boatbuilder Magazine and concerns his building of a slightly flawed Bolger Diablo Fishing Skiff.

BILL MCKIBBEN my close friend has been quietly building AND using plywood boats in his hometown of Victoria, British Columbia for over thirty years.  For a long time I've wanted to build a web page that show cases Bill's vast body of work, and finally, here it is.  Click and spend a few minutes looking at what one could accurately call "a one-man boat show"!
